Keeping in line with the topic of work , we are gonna explore some of the more general terms you should be familiar with.
These collocations will help you describe what do you require from a potential workplace since it is important to be able to explain what you require and why you do or do not accept a job offer given to you.
So let's get into it :
- If you are looking for a job with flexible working hours that means the job accommodates that you choose when you start working so instead of the standard 9 to 5 you can choose to come in earlier or later.
- Having a minimum wage job means your salary is the lowest legal amount your boss can pay you ,this is overall very unfavorable for you as a worker.
- A job with a good work life balance means you don't have too long working hours and have time to relax , and spend time with family or friends , this is something you should be actively looking for while searching for a job.
- A work with sick leave means they allow you to take a break for a few days up to couple of weeks if you fall ill, this is also a very favorable thing you should be looking out for.
- If a job entails a heavy workload that means you will have loads and loads to do and if you are not up for such tasks the job may be very unpleasant for you.
As you can see there are quite a few collocations you should be familiar with while searching for a job to make working as good of an experience you can make it.
